More Good Things

More good things are happening. Today I visited a new family and they signed up their boy. The dad also signed up as a leader. (I'd like to see if we can get him in as an Asst. Den Leader. That would be really good for everyone, I think. I'm so happy about this family.)

Tonight I stopped by the Wolf/Bear Den Leader's house at the end of meeting time to find that nobody was home. A couple of moms had returned and were wondering where their boys were. There had been no mention to them of an excursion! (I was surprised, because we had talked about this in training at Committee Meeting recently.) I apologized and promised that it wouldn't happen again. We waited, and soon the boys and the Den Leaders walked happily back to the Den Leader's house. After the boys departed I talked to the Den Leader. After telling him that we had four new boys for his den (YEA!), I explained that the parents tonight had been concerned, and that parents always need to know where their boys are. So it's good that I was there tonight, and I hope this will not happen again. It mustn't. Tomorrow I will call the council and find out exactly what kind of excursions need tour permits.

I'm finding that new families are uncomfortable with Den Meetings at leader's houses. It's just how things are nowadays, I guess.
